About this fund
The Community Development Fund supports the organisations, programmes and people that strengthen everyday community life across the Western Bay of Plenty.
It is our broadest community fund, supporting the work that keeps community organisations running, not only new projects. This can include salaries and coordination, programme delivery, volunteer support, training and the operating costs that rarely attract funding elsewhere.
We fund across areas including youth development, sport and recreation, arts and culture, education, health and social services, environment and emergency services. If your work strengthens community wellbeing in the Western Bay, this is usually the right place to start.
What we fund
What we don't fund
Costs already incurred or projects already completed.
Debt servicing, deficits or recovery of past losses.
Individuals applying on their own behalf.
Activities that don't primarily benefit the Western Bay of Plenty.
Facility builds or upgrades, which may be better suited to the Community Facilities Fund.
Strong organisations help build strong communities.
Who can apply
This fund is for eligible not-for-profit and community organisations delivering benefit within the Western Bay of Plenty.
