About this fund
The Community Events Fund supports events that bring people together and contribute to vibrant, connected communities across the Western Bay of Plenty.
From local celebrations and cultural experiences to sporting and community events, we support opportunities for people to participate, connect and share experiences.
We look for events that create meaningful community benefit and contribute socially, culturally or economically to our region.
What we fund
Three event funds available
Manawa Trust Community Events Fund supports national and international significant events. These can be submitted directly to Manawa Trust on a monthly basis. Contact our team to receive an application form.
Tauranga Western Bay Community Event Fund supports small to medium community-led events that are community driven and enrich our communities through active participation and inclusion. This fund is a collaboration between Manawa Trust who manages the fund, and Acorn Foundation, BayTrust, Tauranga City Council and Western Bay of Plenty District Council.
Learn more at www.communityeventfund.nzKaupapa Māori Event Fund supports iwi and hapū-led events celebrating tangata whenua and tikanga Māori, while also raising awareness of events of historical and cultural significance across our rohe e.g. Matariki and Waitangi Day Celebrations. This fund is a collaboration between Tauranga City Council who manages the fund, Acorn Foundation, BayTrust, Manawa Trust and Western Bay of Plenty District Council.

Fundraisers.
Events primarily intended for commercial gain.
Costs already incurred or events that have already taken place.
Events without clear community benefit.
Events taking place primarily outside the Western Bay of Plenty.
Bringing people together strengthens community.
Who can apply
This fund is for eligible organisations delivering events that create meaningful benefit for communities across the Western Bay of Plenty.
