About this fund

The Facilities of Regional Significance Fund invests in major facilities that have the potential to create lasting benefit across the Western Bay of Plenty.

These are significant, long-term projects that serve communities beyond a single organisation or neighbourhood and contribute to the social, cultural, recreational or economic life of our region.

Because of their scale and importance, we work closely with applicants and other partners to help ensure these investments respond to genuine regional need and create value for generations to come.

What we fund

Major regional facilitiesSignificant facilities designed to serve communities from across the Western Bay of Plenty.

New developmentsMajor new facilities responding to demonstrated regional need and opportunity.

Significant redevelopmentTransformational upgrades or expansions that increase the capacity and long-term value of important regional facilities.

What we don't fund

Small or local facility projects better suited to the Community Facilities Fund.
Routine maintenance and minor upgrades.
Projects primarily providing private or commercial benefit.
Projects without demonstrated regional need or long-term viability.
Costs already incurred or projects already completed.

Who can apply

This fund is for eligible organisations developing major facilities with clear and significant benefit for communities across the Western Bay of Plenty.
